St. Francis Music Ministry

Youth Music for the

2024-2025 School Year

Interest Form

The Music Ministers at St. Francis provide strong leadership at our weekend celebrations and Holy Days, offering prayerful meditations for reflection. All liturgies on Sundays (9am, 11am, and 5pm) are accompanied by piano. The 5pm Mass on Saturdays is an acapella Mass (no piano accompaniment). Music selections range from traditional hymns to contemporary pieces. If you are interested in joining any of our wonderful groups, please contact Brandon Henley, Director of Music and Liturgy at music@instrumentofpeace.org.

The CANTOR offers musical support and leadership at weekend liturgies.

The ADULT CHOIR provides leadership at the 11:00 Sunday and Holy Day liturgies. They rehearse weekly from September-June on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm.

The HANDBELL CHOIR enhances our Eucharistic celebration monthly. This group of dedicated volunteers rehearses weekly from September-June on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm.

The YOUTH MUSIC PROGRAM at St. Francis is open to vocalists in grades 3-12 and instrumentalists in grades 6-12. Youth Music serves once per month at the 5pm Sunday Mass. Complete the Youth Music interest form at the top of this page if you have a student interested in making music at St. Francis!

What qualities do I need to be a music minister?

A love of music and a desire to praise God in song are the most important qualities a music minister should possess. Our primary goal is to assist the gathered assembly in their worship.

Do I need special training to be a music minister?

No. All necessary training is provided during rehearsal and special events throughout the year.

What if I can’t make it every week?

To be a music minister, you must make a commitment to attend rehearsals and to serve at one liturgy per week. However, conflicts do come up that require members to miss, absences are excused.

Please contact Brandon Henley if you are interested!
